OSN Power Rankings
Josh Callaway February 11th, 2021
Oh, where has the season gone. Just like that, it is mid-February and teams are getting their final
regular season games in before the playoffs start up.
It seems like we were just talking about playoff football and here we are about to dive in on
playoff basketball, what an incredible job by all involved to get this season played.
But, there is still work to do.
We enter the final days of the regular season and everyone is trying to button things up before
the games mean more than ever.
Without further adieu, here the latest OSN Power Rankings with the playoffs rapidly
approaching.
LARGE SCHOOLS (BOYS)
#1 Edmond Memorial – Last Week: #1
Edmond Memorial remains as top dog at 12-1 on the season after defeating Mustang last week.
They’re good, they’re really good. They fought their way to the top spot and have kept winning
since being there. They are going to be very tough to beat in the 6A playoffs in a couple of
weeks.
#2 Kingfisher – Last Week: #2
My position on Kingfisher remains unchanged – they’re fantastic. The duo they bring to the
table, along with a medley of talent behind them, is simply elite. I would be floored if they didn’t
win the 4A title this season.
#3 Del City – Last Week: #3
Del City hasn’t lost since January 9th and are playing some really good basketball right now.
That last loss came to Edmond Memorial by only two points. I would not hate to see those two
fire things up again, perhaps for a state title on the line.
#4 Lawton MacArthur – Last Week: #4
#5 Heritage Hall – Last Week: #5
#6 Crossings Christian – Last Week: #8
#7 Carl Albert – Last Week: #7
#8 Edmond North – Last Week: #9
#9 Memorial – Last Week: #6
#10 Hugo – Last Week: #10
LARGE SCHOOLS (GIRLS)
#1 Norman – Last Week: #1
Norman has been unfortunately unable to play since our last rankings due to COVID reasons, so
it makes no sense to move them down. Their matchup with Classen SAS on Thursday night is
fascinating and one to keep an eye on without question.
#2 Edmond North – Last Week: #2
Edmond North just keeps winning games, knocking off Westmoore last Friday to go to 17-2 on
the season. They are a super impressive team who I hope gets another shot at Norman later this
season, hopefully for a state title.
#3 Union – Last Week: #3
Union completely dominated Broken Arrow last week to run their record up to 15-1 on the
season. This three-headed monster in 6A is going to be unreal to watch to play out. The thing
keeping Union in the third spot is simple: that lone loss came at the hands of Edmond North a
few weeks ago.
#4 Anadarko – Last Week: #7
#5 Sapulpa – Last Week: #5
#6 Roland – Last Week: #6
#7 Weatherford – Last Week: #4
#8 Tuttle – Last Week: #8
#9 Classen SAS – Last Week: #9
#10 Ft. Gibson – Last Week: #10
SMALL SCHOOLS (BOYS)
#1 Hydro-Eakly – Last Week: #1
Still undefeated, still No. 1. It is really that simple for Hydro-Eakly as they sit at 18-0 and now
turn their attention to the postseason. It is going to be fascinating to see if they can complete the
unblemished season and take this thing all the way through the state title game.
#2 Roff – Last Week: #3
Here comes Roff. They are an unreal 22-1 on the season and have slowly been climbing and
climbing their way back up the rankings after taking a tumble a few weeks ago. They knocked
off a good 3A team in Kingston last week to just further cement themselves as a legit group that
deserves a lot of respect.
#3 Cashion – Last Week: #4
Cashion continues to be a steady riser up the rankings in recent weeks. They just have too many
quality wins to overlook and they added to that with a 43-34 win over a good Hennessey team
last week. They have beaten Dale and Varnum as well this season – which are both teams
featured in our rankings. They’ve earned this spot.
#4 Dale – Last Week: #5
#5 Hooker – Last Week: #3
#6 Oklahoma Union – Last Week: #8
#7 Varnum – Last Week: #6
#8 Calumet – Last Week: #7
#9 Ft. Cobb-Broxton – Last Week: #9
#10 Pawnee – Last Week: #10
SMALL SCHOOLS (GIRLS)
#1 Vanoss – Last Week: #1
Vanoss hasn’t taken the court since our last rankings, but at 20-0 it would be illogical and
malpractice to move them down. They have had an incredible season and will be looking to cap
it off with a title in the coming weeks.
#2 Lomega – Last Week: #2
What Vanoss is to Class A, Lomega is to Class B. They are 19-0 on the year and are firmly one
of the best small school teams in the state. As I have said before, I just wish we could see
Lomega and Vanoss go head-to-head somehow.
#3 Latta – Last Week: #3
Latta hasn’t lost since January 8th. While they are a step behind the top-2 teams, they are playing
as well as anybody as it stands today. They have a couple of huge games coming up before our
next rankings, including a rematch with Dale on Friday night.
#4 Dale – Last Week: #4
#5 Hydro-Eakly – Last Week: #5
#6 Howe – Last Week: #6
#7 Crowder – Last Week: #7
#8 Amber-Pocasset – Last Week: #8
#9 Seiling – Last Week: #9
#10 Garber – Last Week: NR
